Adding Emotion to Your Writing with Neil Plakcy (online event)

Adding Emotion to Your Writing with Neil Plakcy (online event) In-Person

What makes a story memorable? Some might say the intricate plotting, while others cite the quality of the prose or the depth of characterization. But equally important to that is the emotional connection writers make with their readers. Romance writer Stella Starling has created what she calls the "feelz sandwich," a way of making sure that you insert the emotion into every scene, so your readers keep turning the pages. Neil Plakcy, author of over fifty mystery and romance novels, will offer a workshop based on Starling's idea, showing authors how to insert emotion into their scenes so that their readers feel what their characters do.

NEIL PLAKCY is the author of more than fifty full-length novels and many stories and story collections. He has been a university administrator, construction manager, computer game producer, web developer, and college professor. He has sorted cards for phone book delivery, acted in children's theater, and traveled to many (but not all) of the places he writes about. He is a professor of English at Broward College and lives in Hollywood, Florida with his husband and their two rambunctious golden retrievers.

This workshop is on Zoom and registration is required. Please click here to register.

The video is available for on-demand viewing June 20 – November 10.
