YOU GOT THIS! Women & Money In-Person

In this hands-on session led by Dr. Rita Shea-Van Fossen of the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship, we will look at the unique challenges women face in managing money and building wealth. Learn how unconscious money beliefs can impact financial health and gender differences in attitudes toward debt, risk, and investing.  The session will conclude with tips and resources for women to develop a plan to overcome financial challenges and improve her finances.          

Overview of session:

  • An overview of the research and facts about the challenges women face in managing finances and building wealth.  
  • Participants will take a short quiz to learn their own Money Script, how these unconscious money beliefs impact net worth, and tips to overcome these beliefs to improve their relationship with money.
  • Discussion of issues for women related to credit scores and debt, including discussion of issues related to joint and individual assets and accounts.
  • Gender differences in investing and taking risks.
  • Putting together a financial plan (as time permits).
  • Tips and Resources for women to manage their finances.
