My First Fine Arts: Celebrate Black History Month with Jazzy Ash

My First Fine Arts: Celebrate Black History Month with Jazzy Ash In-Person

Hey jive turkeys! Jazzy Ash invites the whole family to come along on a Crescent City inspired, jazzy music adventure! Jazzy’s songs celebrate the magic of movement, with a lot of sugar and sass thrown in, New Orleans–style. Her latest album features classic songs, rhythms and rhymes that celebrate a tradition handed down by African American children, adults, and musicians from the mid-19th century to the early jazz era. Jazzy’s background in music and early childhood education make her uniquely qualified to introduce jazz to preschool age children and encourage kids and their grown-ups to celebrate the music of New Orleans as part of the American folk music heritage.

Jazzy’s 30-minute pre-recorded concert filmed exclusively for the NSU Alvin Sherman Library debuts simultaneously on the library’s Facebook (lib.nova.edu/facebook) and YouTube (lib.nova.edu/youtube) and will be available for viewing from February 7 – March 7.

My First Fine-Arts is generously funded by PNC Bank’s Grow Up Great initiative. This series is designed for children ages 3 – 5.
