Rodolfo Zuniga and Surfaces in Concert

Rodolfo Zuniga and Surfaces in Concert Online

We're celebrating Black History Month with a jazz music performance by contemporary jazz group Surfaces led by Rodolfo Zuniga, jazz drummer and composer. Rodolfo and his group Surfaces have recorded two albums. They maintain a busy schedule in the South Florida jazz scene, as well as in Central and South America. Surfaces currently performs as an octet with Jason Calloway on cello, Tom Lippincott on guitar, Siobhan Cronin on violin, Caroline Buse on viola, Sherrine Mostin on vocals and founding members of Surfaces, Derek Fairholm on piano and Eric England on bass.

In 2005 the group was awarded the prestigious Carnegie Hall Residency under the direction of Dave Douglas in New York City. In that same year Rodolfo was chosen to be part of Betty Carter's Jazz Ahead Group, which toured the U.S and performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
Rodolfo teaches in the Music Departments at Florida International University, Miami-Dade College and Broward College.
