Land Documents for Genealogy. A presention by Josh Goodman, Ph.D.

Dr. Josh Goodman is the Archives Historian at the State Archives of Florida in Tallahassee. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in History from Florida State University, and a Ph.D. in History from Tulane University in New Orleans.  How do you find out where your ancestors owned property 100 years ago? How about who owned YOUR property 100 years ago? Tracing property ownership can be easy if you know where to look. Join Dr. Josh Goodman from the State Archives of Florida for a virtual tour of some of the most common public records that document land ownership, plus how to find many of them online. The program will use Florid a examples, but the concepts will generally apply when doing research in other states as well.  No syllabus but other information will provided during Q&A session.

This presentation will be done online using Zoom.

The Genealogical Society of Broward County (GSBC) meets monthly on the first Sunday of every month except in August or when there is a holiday.
