Young-Adult Writing for the New Age of Anxiety with Alex Flinn In-Person

Attention all writers! Join us for a workshop led by a published author!

If you're thinking about writing a young-adult novel, you probably know that many things have changed since you were in high school . . . and many things haven't. The anxiety about grades, college, relationships with parents, peers, and potential romantic interests are all still the same. Only now, they're heightened by the constant presence of cell phones which bring school home and parents to school. Join #1 New York Times bestselling young-adult author, Alex Flinn for a workshop on writing for, and about, today's teens.

Alex Flinn is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of fourteen novels including Beastly, which has been made into a   motion picture. Her first novel, Breathing Underwater is a frequent classroom read on the subject of dating violence. Her books have received honors including Best Books for Young Adults, Quick Picks for Reluctant Young Adult Readers, Junior Library Guild selection, as well as local and state readers’ choice awards. Her most recent, Girls of July, about four teenage girls who make a journey of self-discovery in the Adirondack Mountains, was pronounced "infectiously lovely" by Entertainment Weekly magazine. She is a non-practicing attorney who lives with her husband, daughters, and way too many pets in Miami, Florida. Sometimes, she jogs. Her novel, Love, Jacaranda, a modern reboot of Daddy Long Legs, set at a performing arts boarding school, will be published in 2020.
