Featuring Hakim Lakhadar of Lakhdar Coaching

Biography for Hakim Lakhdar.

First and foremost, I am a deeply connected and loving father (of identical twin boys) and husband.  Throughout my life and career and as part of my coaching, I raise the awareness of mid-to-senior professionals to effectively lead themselves and others with

clarity, confidence and compassion!

Whether you’re a new or established business leader/executive/owner looking to level-up your leadership game, at a significant transition point in your life, exploring a new career direction, craving greater work & life harmony or simply preparing to negotiate a promotion or raise, I can help! I coach and counsel mid-to-senior professionals in leadership roles, helping them to identify key strengths and  accomplishments, address and resolve any and all limiting beliefs/blockers, all while helping to create a plan (and perhaps more  importantly, a mindset) for you to achieve your short and long-term career goals.

I've had the great privilege of living many lives and exploring a number of interesting and challenging paths. From playing music at Florida State across the Southeast and then at Irish Kevin's in Key West for a short stint to working with a couple South Florida talent agents as an actor and stunt/driving professional being featured in several well-known Spanish soap operas. It's always been an adventure and I wouldn't trade a single moment of it because it's brought me right where I'm meant to be.

I now work as an NLP-certified Executive Coach who has been working in the legal profession as a "non-lawyer" for nearly 15 years at such places as the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI), Harvard Law School (HLS) and most recently, University of Miami's School of Law. I am also certified in Conversational Hypnosis, T.I.M.E. (time integration for maximum empowerment) Techniques, EFT Tapping as well as Success and Life Coaching. Throughout my career, I have been responsible for managing teams (big and small, domestic and international), always involved in some aspect of coaching, advising, or professional development.

After receiving my master's degree from Indiana University, I worked in Washington, D.C. at the American Bar Association’s Rule of Law Initiative, where I supported international recruitment efforts, reviewing thousands of resumes and applications, conducting interviews, on-boarding new staff, and helping to lead intensive orientation sessions for new employees and Pro Bono Legal Specialists preparing to work abroad. Later, as a Program Officer and the Legal Profession Reform Deputy Coordinator, I went on to develop and manage various legal reform programs as well as support and train the local staff in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

Following my time in Washington, D.C., I moved to Massachusetts to assume a management role with Harvard Law School’s (HLS) Center on the Legal Profession, Case Development Initiative and Executive Education Program. There, I was responsible for finance and operations, fundraising and development, space management, and major event planning for both the research center and HLS's Executive Education leadership programs. During my time at HLS, my love of coaching blossomed and from that passion, I helped launch and administer a successful staff-development program (Emerging Leaders) while also serving as management chair on a union/non-union staff joint council. It was during this time that I also successfully pursued my M.B.A. in International Management and Marketing from Northeastern University's D'Amore-McKim School of Business.

Most recently, prior to taking my practice full-time, I served as the Director of Professional and Intellectual Life Programming at University of Miami School of Law.  In this role I was charged with helping to identify, design and promote professional development (i.e., Executive Education) programming and continuing legal education (CLEs) for legal professionals from the U.S. and abroad with added attention to budget management, sponsorship generation, and relationship-building. Additionally, I worked directly with the Vice-Dean of Intellectual Life to promote, market and celebrate faculty scholarship and their other achievements to enhance the reputation and visibility of the Law School. Prior to leaving Miami Law, I took on the additional role of Executive Liaison for Joint Degree and Interdisciplinary Programs, where I helped market the various offerings, guided and advised current and incoming students and fostered strong relationships with partner UM Schools and other institutions connected with Miami Law.

Taking the leap from the traditional "9-5" into business for myself was something that required a lot of reflection, conversation and planning with my partner and...trust...trust that I would create it all for myself, my family, my clients. There isn't a day that goes by where I don't reflect on how happy and blessed I am to be doing the work I truly believe I was meant to do. I look forward to getting a chance to do some of that work together!
