About the Event

Documentary screening and interview with Producer Suzanne Lasky Gerard, Former News Reporter for Channel 7 News Miami

In 1988, a brave group of teens and adults flew behind the Iron Curtain to commemorate Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) by visiting Holocaust and Heritage sites in Communist Poland. They then traveled to Israel to celebrate Yom HaZikaron (Israel’s Memorial Day) and Yom HaAtzma’ut (Israel’s independence Day). This was the very first March of the Living program. This Emmy-award-winning documentary shares the stories of several of the original participants, today in their 50s, talking about how their lives were changed by the March.

Free and open to the public.
