About the Event

NSU Professor and native of Ireland David Kilroy will introduce and screen films depicting the Irish culture.

 

 

For the final day of the festival, there will be a short film and feature length film. The short film is entitled An Irish Goodbye. Set on a farm in rural Norther Ireland, estranged brothers Turlough and Lorcan are forced to reunite following the untimely death of thier mother. But when the pair discover an unfilfilled bucket list belonging to their mum, their pained reunion takes a different course. 2023 Oscar winner, Best Live Action Short Film

 

 

The feature length film is The Quiet Girl. Set in 1981, this film tells the story of a young girl, Cáit, who is sent away for the summer from her dysfunctional family to live with her mother's people. 2023 Oscar nominated, Best International Feature Film
